This weekend we were teased...
MA was feeling soooo much better. We had friends in town and it was really nice to see them. we did a few things, nothing really fun, but stuff. Bought a table, curtain rods for the living/family room. You know errands type stuff. Cooked a big dinner for everyone...
Sunday was a breeze. MA even ate some milk products and kept them down...and then it happened. The nausea, the desire to barf, and the sitting on the couch and moaning...it was back!
I think it was even worse than before, but that could just be that we were VERY ready for it to be over. So Monday started with the same nauseum of the last 4 Mondays.
We're taking Friday off, so we can go to LA and see Nona (MA's Grandma) and family. Hopefully that won't be too hard on her.
Here is a picture of Dallin Sorensen - Glenn and Brynn's little fella. He's eating Reid's leg for now. He's also a chunk. 5 months and right around 20 lbs.

It's ALIVE!!!!!
Well folks it's official. Mary Ann is pregnant and getting more pregnant (at least on the hormone side) by the day. We definitely can't see anything yet, but she's for sure pregnant. All I do anymore is cook, clean, and go shopping for anything that might possibly stay in her stomach. But is that enough nope the place is still filthy and there isn't anything to eat in this place. :)
Anyway, I'm really writing to let you know that we had our first Dr.'s appointment and we were able to hear the baby's little heartbeat. It was kind of nerve racking as the Dr. looked around for the heartbeat, wondering if something had gone wrong...but then it was there and we realize that it was alive. We're going to be parents. (I sure hope it's a boy.)
We can officially tell the world now since the chance of a miscarriage is less than 2%, so we're telling the world. We're going to be parents. I know most of you are thinking it's about time, but honestly it's perfect timing for us, which means we're really happy.
The ultrasound doesn't happen until about week 20 which seems like a long ways away. Keep praying for a little boy...

The good news...
Hello everyone,
We survived our trip to Puerto Rico...it was our anniversary celebration and though the adventure side of it was slim, the relaxation side was very nice. Sleeping until 10, and then slowly getting up and going to a beach or some other great spot. It was good time off.
We stayed for 7 days in the Normandie Hotel in San Juan, this was fun because it was designed after an old cruise ship. Luckily we had surprisingly large rooms (from what I've heard most cruise ships have tiny cabins). Expedia totally hooked us up. Right next to us was the world famous Caribe Hilton...I didn't know it was world famous until we went over and they mentioned it. They had this fabulous little beach that we should have enjoyed the entire trip. Instead walked and walked and walked....to get to the "good" beaches.
The taxis cost a fortune! We learned the hard way of course. It cost us $8 to go about 6 blocks. When our cabbie dropped us off after 6 blocks we were pretty ticked, and so we walked a lot more after that. The bus system wasn't too easy to navigate since they didn't pass out route maps, but we figured out the basics and were able to get around for a quarter each way.
It was a beautiful town (San Juan) with a long heritage. Christopher Columbus named it and Ponce de Leon was the first governor. Tons of history and a 15th century town.
The last day we rented a car and drove up to the rain forest and did a little hike to a waterfall. It was good fun, and it did rain on us.
Fortunately we didn't run into Wilma...she stayed much further west of us. The weather was surprisingly good. A little cloudy, but for the most part really nice. Warm and muggy, but nice.
Anyway, thanks for all the congratulations. We still are waiting to annouce officially so don't tell everyone yet. It's only been close family and a few friends. We just want to make sure nothing happens to the baby before we spread the news too far. It is still really early.
Also for those wondering, yes MA is sick. She's tried a ton of stuff and so far has kept down some of her food, but...she's sick. It was challenging to find food that she could at least try and stomach. We lucked out and found an all natural smoothie place that had a couple new regulars for the week.

Sad news.
After we went to CA this last weekend to see MA's Grandparents, we learned Monday morning that he passed away earlier that morning on the way to the hospital. He was in a lot of pain, and I'm very glad that we were there since we were able to help him during his last few days.
It's obviously with mixed emotions that these experiences come to us. Grateful that he is no longer in pain and suffering; the last three weeks were exceptionally difficult. However, we will mourn his departure as we no longer will have his pleasant influence among us.
We also mourn our Nona's (MA's Grandma - Nona is Grandma in Italian) loss, as she will be alone after some very good years.
He was a great man, and I wish that you could have met him.
We'll be in CA later this week for the funeral on Friday.

AZ is beautiful this time of year
All-My turn to do the weekly update so here you go.It's been a busy week...lots of scouting. I've been asked to be part of the Cub Scouts so we had Pack Mtg this week. It went really well except that it involved some dry ice and well no one told me that liquid would be involved so when I broke the ice up, I also poked a hole in the plastic bowl. While setting up I showed the Cub Master but he said it was fine. During the ceremony he told the boys they would be pouring liquid on the dry ice. I immediately went for some paper towels, it went straight through the bowl onto our electric fire. Fortunately we were able to get the liquid under control before it got crazy.Then when I tried to paint the boys faces with some symbolic lines, the paint was dry. So we had a few minutes of panic until we found some face pencils that worked.Mary Ann then taught a family merit badge and came home telling me she would never have boys. If we have one, we're taking it back I guess. "They never pay attention and are just rude." Talking all the time, etc. So pray for girls everyone. I'm still secretly praying for boys, but don't tell MA.Sat was exciting as I woke up and trimmed the REALLY overgrown Bougainvillas out front. The neighbors loned us a trimmer and blower so I whipped through them really quick. We then went on our Sat ritual (Shopping). MA usually has a list of stores that we need to hit, so we started at Home Goods a new store that is like Marshalls but specializes in home stuff. We bought a new chandelier for the entry. Then we were off to Jo Ann's to get paint for the chandelier. They had a sale going on and it was incredibly packed so when I found out that the spray paint was locked up (spray paint is the number one shoplifted item) I went to customer service to get the key but the line was so long I convinced MA that it was best we left. She says I threw a fit, and maybe I did, cause I really can't stand to stand in line to buy something. We then went to Fry's and bought some food.MA then went to an all day Relief Society dinner and broadcast. I painted the chandelier and and hooked it up. Those things take quite a while.Today we had dinner with some different relatives. Our great Grandfather Asa Brigham Scoville was her great Grandmothers's big brother.
