The new good news is...
He went for his two week check up and everything is 'A-ok'. He weighed in at 9 lbs 13 oz so has regained what he lost plus, plus. He is now 23 inches long and was pronounced a healthly baby.
We've struggles a little with some intestinal discomfort, but learned that if you put him in his car seat for 20 minutes after eating he seems to sleep better later. He slept in his car seat last night and he slept way too much for MA's comfort.

Nursery updates
Here are a few of the updates we have made to the nursery. Among them are a refinished glider with new beautifully quilted fabric for the chair pads that MA and her Mom found and made, a changing table that I made with a lot of help from a good buddy (and MA made the cover for the changing pad), a couple of cows, one that talks from Grandma Carol and a sign of Max's name in case we forget.

the waiting...
Well just thought I'd post this real quick, for all of you that randomly check it for updates. We're still waiting...
My cousin due two weeks after us already had her baby. He was 9 lbs and 9 oz. If you'd like to see some pictures of the little fellow you can check them out here: http://flickr.com/photos/hutchinson/
Not us though...we get to wait 'til after the due date to have our little fellow delivered.

When she feels good, she feels good.
Hey all. MA has been feeling better than any other time during her pregnancy. You'll love a video I posted of her on the blog. http://scovilles.blogspot.com. She wanted me to add a disclaimer mentioning that she didn't know I was videoing - she thought I was taking snap shots. The video is much better.
Anyway, all is well. We're anxiously cleaning and prepping for our little fellow to come into our home. Yesterday was "rent a carpet shampooer and clean everything" day. MA thought she was nesting and going to go into labor last night. I figure we've got about 3 weeks of nesting left.
In other news no definite decision on a name yet, but we appreciate all your kind input.
We also update flickr every once in awhile. We have a set of pictures showing Mary Ann through all the stages of pregnancy. http://flickr.com/photos/chezscoville/

Re: New ScovilleClan.com/Wordpress Site
All,
Things here are going well too. No excitement like Alex's (we haven't been almost pooped on). We started our Birthing classes and it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. Everyone has been telling us that they are super long and really boring, but it wasn't too bad. It was a little long. 3 hours on a hard chair. MA definitely walked away the winner of the first night, since I my new assignment is to massage her every night for 15 minutes.
8 weeks away. We knew a couple that was 6 wks ahead of us that delivered last week. Her water broke in the middle of the night and she delivered the next day 3 wks early. Scary, but I guess they consider that full term, so we'll see what happens. MA's been worried that she's going to come early, she goes into the Doc this Thursday and has already started her every 2 wk visits. The clock is definitely ticking for us.
Last night we made up a list of what we still need, according to two of the books that we've been reading - I have one for the guy to prepare; MA got it for me for Christmas and it's been quite good. It seemed to be more comprehensive on the list side than the normal books. Anyway, our list is still longer than I thought it would be. It seems like all we do is shop for new things for the baby. I guess that won't change the next 18 years, eh?
Thanks to everyone who has contributed to the long list of everything that you need to get for a new baby.

Hope everyone is well.
J-P and MA.

The first chair is the fabric we purchased them in. The next three are the fabrics that we'd like to re-upholster them with.
These chairs MA found on craigslist for a sweet deal. 6 chairs for $100. We went to see them pretty skeptically, but found them in great shape and we're totally glad. MA is the queen of shopping for deals. Of course that brings a smile :) to my face.
To all who have been calling me a family man since the station wagon purchase...we fit all 6 of them in the back, no problem.
